ICTP Associates Seminars: Mixing Research and Life

Published on June 24, 2026

The Portal is a place to connect with other researchers and members of the global ICTP community. With this in mind, we are collaborating with the ICTP Associates Office to host hybrid seminars highlighting the lives and research of our Associates. These seminars are of a level accessible to all scientists, to connect with people across different scientific fields, and give those in the community a glimpse of their working life.

Every other Thursday at 11AM CEST, we welcome an Associate at ICTP to talk about their career progression, their experience of scienc in their home country, and their work.  We stream these live lectures (given at the Stasi theatre) on Zoom for all, and take questions from both the inperson audience and the Zoom participants.

So far, Apoorva Khare from India described majorisation equalities and his career in India, and Carolina Brito delved into outreach, women in science and applying complex systems techniques to climate modelling. Reza Ejtehadi will discuss science in Iran and his work on active matter this week. The first speaker in July, Fabricio Sanguinetti Cruz de Oliveira, will talk about ocean dynamical processes across a range of spatial and temporal scales.

Keep an eye on the Events page for upcoming seminars in the series!

Please contact @ICTP Today if you would like to take part in this series!
